SCHOOL LEADERS

School Leaders are elected from children in years 7. Their roll is to represent the school at school functions, to lead children to high levels of academic and social behaviour and to help manage school resources.

School leaders are selected by a vote from staff and students.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Student councilors are elected from children in years 3-7. Their roll is to provide input into the decision making process of the school. Through meetings the children identify the needs of all children in the school and develop actions to make Fortitude Valley State School a safe and supportive environment.

Twelve children including the School Captain, School vice Captain and Sports Captain are selected through ballot.

Elections for Student Council and School leaders are held early first term. Children present speeches to explain their merit and the value they can provide to the Student Council and School Leaders.
